Yesterday the second batch of Rhino reissues of The Replacements catalogue turned up, these being the ones where they'd moved from indie Twin Tone to a major label. The first 2 of these Tim & Pleased To Meet Me are essential. All 4 titles are packed with great songs, and now great extras too, many of which i'd not heard before. It's not worth listing bands who've citied them as an influence as there's been so many but if you have an interest in alternative rock or Americana you should get these. They're classics.
